Multi-WAN: Failover & Load Balancing

We combine several internet providers into one intelligent platform. If a link fails, traffic switches automatically. If you need more capacity, we distribute traffic across links — availability, performance, or both.

> LIVE FAILOVER

Watch a failover happen

Traffic flows through the active link. When a provider fails, the platform reroutes automatically — no one has to touch anything.

> LIVE LOAD BALANCING

Several links, one combined pipe

When capacity is the priority, all links work at the same time. The platform spreads traffic across them and, if one gets congested, it rebalances the load automatically.

> 01 / What it is

A Multi-WAN platform is a dedicated device (OpenSense-based) that receives multiple internet links and decides how each one is used. Polimata Labs designs the architecture around your priority: automatic backup (failover), traffic distribution (load balancing), or a mix of both. It is not "a router with OpenSense" — it is managed critical connectivity.

> 02 / When you need it
  • >A single internet outage stops billing, POS, IP phones, cameras, or cloud platforms.
  • >You already pay several providers but they are not properly integrated.
  • >You have high traffic and one link gets congested at peak hours.
  • >You need backup that switches over without anyone touching anything.
> 03 / What you get
  • A Multi-WAN architecture designed for your operation and criticality level.
  • Automatic failover with prioritized links (primary, backup 1, backup 2, ...).
  • Load balancing to distribute traffic and reduce congestion.
  • A combined mode: links working together plus automatic backup.
  • Firewall, segmentation, and traffic prioritization rules as needed.
> 04 / Our approach

We map your links, traffic, and the cost of an outage. Then we choose the design: availability-first, performance-first, or mixed. Example failover chain — Movistar → Claro → Starlink → 5G: if one fails, the next takes over. Example balancing — fiber 500 + fiber 300 + Starlink + 5G distributing load. We validate against real scenarios before going live.

> 05 / Scenarios
  • Availability-first

A primary provider with several backups. If the main link drops, the operation stays connected on the next available link.

  • Performance-first

Several links used at the same time to distribute traffic, increase capacity, and improve the experience for many users.

  • Mixed mode

Links balanced for performance, with priorities configured so that if one fails the others keep the operation running.

> 06 / Frequently asked questions
What is a business Multi-WAN solution?
It is an architecture that connects multiple internet providers into one platform for automatic failover, load balancing, or both depending on operational priority.
Can failover and load balancing work together?
Yes. Polimata Labs can configure links to work together for capacity while also setting priorities so the network keeps running if one provider fails.
What internet sources can Polimata Labs integrate?
The solution can integrate fiber, cable, dedicated links, Starlink, 4G/5G routers, data SIMs, and local providers based on coverage and criticality.

Your operation shouldn't depend on a single internet link

Polimata Labs designs, implements, and manages critical connectivity so your services stay active, your users stay connected, and your operation is protected against provider failures.
